The Ethereum token identifies a collectible and transferable licence, not an uncopyable file or a guarantee of copyright ownership.

A unique edition (1/1) grants its current collector the sole collectible master licence issued by Scrawl for this release, including personal/commercial use, modification and distribution. Scrawl will not issue another collectible edition of that exact release. It does not promise that only one person will ever use the font.

A limited edition grants each collector a nonexclusive licence with the same use permissions. Edition supply is fixed at mint and cannot increase.

After a collectible is sold, its current collector may sell perpetual, nonexclusive font-use licences through their Scrawl storefront while retaining the token. This creates a usage copy, not another NFT or a transfer of the collectible master licence. The storefront fee is 4.2069% of each licence sale, rounded down to the smallest payment unit; payment-network costs are separate.

Purchased font-use licences remain valid after the collectible is transferred or resold. Future storefront sales belong to its current collector. Previous collectors cannot continue selling under the transferred master licence. A publicly released font is free to use and is not offered as a paid storefront licence.

Transferring the token transfers this collectible licence. The former collector stops exercising rights under the transferred licence and deletes retained private copies. Scrawl cannot enforce deletion of downloaded files.

An owner may permanently release the font for public personal/commercial use. Such a public release and permissions already granted to others survive transfers and resales; subsequent collectors receive the collectible with that history.

The creator retains any underlying rights they actually possess. No assignment of nonexistent rights or worldwide exclusivity is promised. Fonts are experimental software supplied without warranty.

Purchased font-use licence

The purchaser receives a perpetual, nonexclusive licence to install and use the frozen TTF, OTF and variable TTF files in personal and commercial work, including print, branding, websites, apps and rendered artwork. The licence covers the purchaser, or the purchaser's single legal entity.

The purchaser may embed the font for those uses and make private modifications. They may not resell or distribute the font files themselves, sublicense the files as a standalone product, claim authorship, or transfer this licence to another purchaser.

The purchaser does not receive the Ethereum collectible or its master distribution rights. Their usage licence remains valid if the collectible is subsequently transferred, auctioned or resold.

The Ethereum receipt records the purchaser wallet, seller, immutable release and payment. Fonts are experimental software provided without warranty. Rights are limited to those the creator and licensing collector actually hold.
